“You can’t be here” – NRK Sport – Sports news, results and broadcasting schedule

--

– You have to find another place, for example Trondheim. It cannot be in the district. I can’t be tempted to meet you, so you have to get out of the county in any case, says Nordås to Lundeby, while they have NRK visiting the living room at Jæren.

– So you simply send her out of the county?

– Yes, out of the country, if that’s what it takes.

He says it with his usual twinkle in his eye. But it’s no joke. Now it’s about minimizing risk before the Olympics in Paris.

It is highly unusual to take such extreme measures against infection, but the risk of getting sick must be as far down towards zero percent as he can get. Basillar must be fought with alcohol, distance and precautions.

– That’s how it should be!

MIMRAR: The first date took place in this place. The first kiss was not. It came later.

– That’s what I’m focused on, and that’s how it was before the World Cup and that I stayed away from him, says Lundeby, who has clearly realized what must be sacrificed to be with a top athlete.

When summer comes, it will probably be a year since Nordås tricked Lundeby into the dunes at Jæren and sold his shares. After a longer period together, they are once again on opposite ends of the continent. In these days The dialogue takes place via telephone.

Joint NM charging in Switzerland

For Nordås is at an altitude of 2,300 meters in Spain, while Lundeby is preparing for his law exam in Stavanger. For the next time, he tries to limit his interactions with people in order to avoid incidents in the sea on the way to the Olympics in Paris.

I think that’s how it should be, and it’s something he spends every day training for. And I want him to be close and manage a few weeks away from each other. Then it will be extra nice to see each other again, says Lundeby, who himself invests in running.

HAPPY TRAINING: The sessions together are a highlight of the weekday. Lundeby often joins the leisurely trips, even if he sometimes runs a bit too fast.

Fortunately, the common interest also offers opportunities when the exam period is over. Because after the European Championships in Rome in June, she will join a high-altitude camp in St. Moritz, Switzerland. There they will lay the foundations before the NM in Sandnes towards the end of the same month.

When the championship ends on Saturday 29 June, they kiss each other goodbye until the games.

Then the screws are tightened and the circle of friends is almost limited to coach Gjert Ingebrigtsen and training buddy Per Svela before arriving in the Olympic village.

Warholm goes for a different solution

Olympic champion Karsten Warholm grins a little when he hears how his national team colleague is doing. He goes the opposite way.

– I’ve actually had very good luck so far in my career with actually just screwing it up. That thought started with me quite early on sitting and watching cross-country skiers who always talked about how afraid they were of infection and had taken all measures, and then it was all of them who got sick, says Warholm to NRK.

SOMETHING MORE LIBERAL: Karsten Warholm and Oda Djupvik celebrate World Cup gold in Budapest. They see each other more before the Olympics in Paris than Nordås and his Oda.

The world champion from London, Doha and Budapest believes it is possible to stress yourself out.

– I lived in a collective with three friends who had their own lives and I didn’t care too much about it.

He emphasizes that he takes more care now than before, and that he has a trainer who is good at sprinkling down all the equipment. The boyfriend Oda Djupvik is still allowed to attend.

– No, she gets booed. She gets booed. And as a rule, we live our lives as usual. It’s a bit scary now to sit and “jinx” it in a way, but… It’s not like it’s only the woman who can infect you. There may also be quite a few others who can infect you. It is impossible to completely isolate yourself, says Warholm.

The seriousness begins

Nordås is now counting down to the season opener at 5,000 meters in Huelva, Tuesday 30 April. Training buddy Per Svela will also run the same distance there.

The Olympic requirement for the distance is 13.05.00 minutes – 38 hundredths better than the Norwegian’s personal record.

Filip Ingebrigtsen and Moa Bollerød will start in the 1500 meters in the same event.

PS! Narve Gilje Nordås and Oda Andersen Lundeby took part in the 1500 meters during the NM in Sandnes, from 27 June to 29 June.
