There she becomes part of the long-distance effort of the team led by Anders and Jørgen Aukland.

Nilsson has five Olympic gold medals and seven World Cup medals in cross-country skiing. In 2020, she stopped cross-country skiing and started biathlon. That career has been more motley, and she never reached the world elite.

– I feel I have reached my potential in biathlon. I have always been fascinated and inspired by long-distance running and the Vasaloppet. When the Aukland brothers with Team Ragde Charge got in touch, I felt that: “Yes, I want to do this”, says Nilsson in a press release.

Sports manager Magnar Dalen will spend plenty of time with Nilsson.

– Stina must be matched carefully, and we must use the summer and autumn to step up staking and hardening of arms. The level among the best ladies in Ski Classics is sky high, and Stina has a job to do, says Dalen.

– Stina has an extremely exciting background. She has experience, physical abilities and is good tactically. We want to put everything in order and help Stina to realize her potential in Ski Classics where the Vasaloppet is the big goal, says Jørgen Aukland
