Gulliksen has not taken long to make a name for himself in Sweden after moving from Bodø/Glimt to Djurgården this winter.

He got off to a dream start in his new club with a goal in his debut, before a little later he caused chaos in the host city against AIK in the semi-final of the Swedish Cup.

The 20-year-old scored in the penalty shootout against the rivals, and then chose to celebrate in front of the supporters of AIK. It was not popular.

He was confronted by several AIK players in the players’ tunnel, before several of the players also fired heavily at him in the media. In other words, it has been a rich start to Gulliksen’s time in Sweden.

– It is sad

The former Glimt player did not want to talk to the media after the bid, but now he is taking the magazine out of his mouth.

– I have experienced it just like everyone else. There has been a lot of talk, but I am just happy that we are going to play in the final and look forward to the match against Malmö FF, he says to Expressen.

The 20-year-old does not hide that he has received a lot of hate after the match against AIK.

– This is something that should not happen. But as a footballer you are in public and it happens, but I don’t think much about it. I’ve seen a bit of it. It’s easy for that to happen when you’re a public figure. It’s sad that it’s happening, but there’s not much I can do about it, says Gulliksen.

Norwegian-Kosovian Bersant Celina, who like Gulliksen has a past in Strømsgodset, was one of the players who spoke critically about Gulliksen after the Stockholm derby.

He said, among other things, that he was going to have a chat with the 20-year-old.

– I know Bersant and his brother from before. We haven’t spoken since the derby. He hasn’t kept his word, but I’m thinking about the start of the series now, says Gulliksen.

– Bigger than in Norway

There has been a lot of attention in a short time for Gulliksen in Sweden, something he says he was not prepared for. He still thinks it has been instructive to experience it.

At the same time, he does not hide that he has noticed a difference in that particular area in Sweden compared to Norway.

– The best clubs in Norway are in Bodø, Molde and a little further up. In Sweden, there are many clubs nearby and in the same place, and this creates a greater rivalry. The pressure is greater here than in Norway, absolutely, says Gulliksen.

In any case, he is looking forward to the start of the series in Sweden on Monday when Djurgården meets IFK Göteborg. The cup final against Malmö will be played on 1 May.
