The Bruins would have been play-off-ready with at least one point, i.e. win or lose after overtime, in the match against Tampa, but instead suffered a bitter loss.

In the first period, the Bruins went up 1–0 after Mitchell Chaffee scored after just over ten minutes of play, but Tampa equalized just over seven minutes later through Danton Heinen.

In the second period, Emil Martinsen Lilleberg provided the assist for Braydon Point’s 2-1 score just before seven minutes had been played.

Towards the end of the third period, the Bruins sent the goalie out in a desperate attempt to tie the game and get overtime, but instead Tampa went up 3-1 when Nikita Kucherov put the puck into an empty net just 27 seconds before the end.

The Tampa Bay Lightning thus gained important points in the battle to retain their wild card spot for the playoffs.

Emil Martinsen Lilleberg thus recorded an assist and one shot on goal in the roughly 18 minutes he got on the ice.
