– Feels much better

--

On Saturday it was reported that Frank Løke has never been more tired. On Sunday, things are on the mend.

The former handball player is on his way up Mount Everest, without oxygen.

On Friday he arrived at Camp-3, which is over 7,000 meters above sea level.

Frank Løke then said that he has never been so tired after a single uphill stage.

– The batteries have been completely flat and I really wanted to lie down for good, said Løke through the press contact.

He then said that he was affected by the trip, and considered taking extreme measures.

Those moves were made, and Løke flew by helicopter to Kathmandu to rest.

Press contact Haabeth says things are now going better with the former handball player.

– He feels much better, he says.

On Sunday, Løke had a pizza, which is the first “normal” meal in quite a while. It will hardly come as a shock, but there are not many restaurants on Mount Everest.

– They have decent food in Base Camp, but it’s probably been a month since he last tasted pizza. The plans for now are to rest and eat. Return to Base Camp by helicopter on May 9, and depart for Camp 1 the same day.

Camps 1, 2 and 3 referred to here are camps that serve as a starting point for ascents of Mount Everest. Climbers will typically spend a few days here to get used to the thin air.

Rotations in this context means that you move slowly but surely up and down in height to acclimatise yourself to the summit itself.

On “71 degrees north” Frank Løke was subjected to a stunt – see video:
