– The car is on fire and the road is closed in both directions, wrote the police in Agder at 21.52.

They reported at 21:49 that they had received a report of a fire in a vehicle, heading east.

– Everyone got out and there were no injuries, but clearly – now there was a full fire in the car and many meters of flames above the car, so we need to hear what has happened, said operations manager John Repstad in the police to VG.

He said that there should not have been any accident ahead, and that only a fire in a single car had been reported.

In an update at 10.21pm, the police report that the fire has been extinguished and the car completely burnt out.

– There is still some smoke coming from the car. The police will shortly begin directing traffic past in one lane. The tow truck has been ordered and will pick up the car. The sequence of events is currently unclear, the police write.

At 10.50 p.m., operations manager Repstad tells us that the traffic goes alternately in one lane with routing.
