The leaves of the windmill on top of the Paris landmark Moulin Rouge have fallen off, the fire service in the city says.

The leaves fell off during the night to Thursday without causing any damage, the fire service told AFP. Furthermore, it is stated that there is no danger of further damage.
The cause of the accident, which occurs only months before Paris hosts the Olympics, is unclear.
The very name of the traditional cabaret scene means “red windmill” in Norwegian. Moulin Rouge opened in 1889. The cabaret is located in the north of Paris and is one of the city’s most visited landmarks. It is known as the origin of the modern dance cancan.
