Beathoven changes PRIMADONNA because of Marina: – Very crazy

--

Beathoven explains why “PRIMADONNA” suddenly sounds different.

When “PRIMADONNA” came out in the autumn, there was little doubt who the source of inspiration for the hook was.

Beathoven borrows some melody and lyrics from the Marina and the Diamonds song of the same title – you can hear both below.

Now Beathoven admits that the use was not approved.

(We asked the guys about this in September via their press contact at Warner Music, but didn’t get an answer.)

With 7.2 million streams, “PRIMADONNA” is Beethoven’s third most popular after “SØR-AFRIKA” with Capow x 2G (17.4 million) and “STAY KEEG” with Henrik von Grogg (14.1 million).

Marina and the Diamonds (who now only go by the first name Marina) released their “Primadonna” in 2011.

Electra Heart– the single was written by Marina Diamandis, Julie Frost and producers Henry Walter and Lukasz Gottwald alias Cirkut and Dr. Luke.

The song is one of Marina’s biggest with over 280 million Spotify streams. Some of these probably come from Beathoven, who was inspired when they wrote “PRIMADONNA” a decade later.

Marina and the Diamonds (2011):

Prima donna girl, yeah
All I ever wanted was the world
I can’t help that I need it all
The prima donna life, the rise and fall

Beethoven (2022):

A prima donna girl
Always prima donna fucked up in the club
Everything you say is so word
Living the Primadonna lifestyle until she dies

If one uses the melody but does not sample, it is called interpolation.
