Here Johnny Depp rocks in Finland – VG

Johnny Depp (59) and Jeff Beck (77) perform for the Finns before setting course for Norway.

Depp and Beck performed at Kaisaniemi Park in Helsinki on Sunday, as the main attraction during the Helsinki Blues Festival, and on Monday night, Tampere Hall is on the poster.

The movie star landed by private jet at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport on Saturday. According to Newsotp, Beck must have landed earlier in the day.

Johnny Depp has changed his look after the six-week trial against ex-wife Amber Heard (36), which ended at the end of May. Both the beard and the mustache are gone.

On Friday, it’s Oslo’s turn. The concert at the center Stage is the first of four on Norwegian soil. On Saturday, they play at the Tahiti Festival in Kristiansund.

On 2 July, Sentrum Scene in the capital is on tour again, and on 3 July, Koengen in Bergen will be visited.

The interest in the duo is enormous in the wake of the trial in Virginia, where Depp emerged victorious in the defamation case against Heard.

The Hollywood star met the British guitar legend for the first time in 2016. Since then, Beck has contributed to one of the songs of Depp’s rock band The Hollywood Vampires. In 2020, Depp and Beck also released a version of John Lennon’s “Isolation” together.

Birthday in Oslo

On July 15, the two will release their first album together. It has been given the title «18».

Among other things, Depp and Beck will share an interest in cars and guitars.

– When Johnny and I started playing together, it really ignited our youthful spirit and creativity. We joked that we felt 18 years old again, so then it became the album title as well, Beck said around the announcement of the album according to Rolling Stone.

– We joked that we felt like 18-year-olds again, so then it became the title of the album, explained the 77-year-old – who actually has a birthday next Friday and thus celebrates his 78th birthday on stage in Oslo.

Depp has released two albums with the band Hollywood Vampires, where Beck has also contributed as a guest artist.

Pandemic cooperation

The new album contains 13 songs, including “This Is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr”, which Depp has written – and which was recently released on single.

The two have performed with this song before, but it has not been released.

– I was blown off course by this. Precisely this song is one of the reasons why I asked if he would make a record with me, Beck says in the statement.

They have spent three years on the release. Depp brags about his partner.

– It is an extraordinary honor to be allowed to play and make music with Jeff, one of the really great ones, and who I have the great privilege of being able to call my brother, says the actor.

The John Lennon cover “Isolation” is also on the record, as well as cover songs by Beach Boys, Marvin Gaye, Killing Joke and Velvet Underground.

When “Isolation” was released in April 2020, Beck explained that the two stars had a collaboration that had been going on for a while.

According to the plan, the song was not to be released so quickly. But when the pandemic occurred, it felt right to release the song about isolation, according to Beck.

It came as a surprise when Depp appeared as a guest artist on Beck’s European tour at the end of May. The film star traveled from Virginia in the US straight to England after the trial was over – and before the jury had time to deliver its verdict.

The jury concluded that Heard had deliberately defamed her ex-husband, and Depp thus won with his lawsuit. Heard must pay Depp close to NOK 100 million.

At the same time, Heard was upheld in that she was subjected to defamation by Depp’s former lawyer, and Depp was ordered to pay her almost 20 million kroner in compensation.

While Depp is touring in Europe, Heard and her lawyers continue to embroider the trial on television in the United States.

Last week, Heard appeared in an hour-long interview with NBC’s Samantha Guthrie, in which she maintains that the verdict was unfair.

Depp has contented himself with posts on social media, where he thanks for “getting his life back”. On June 7, he debuted on TikTok, and at the time of writing, he has gathered 15.1 million followers there. He himself does not follow anyone.

He has only posted two videos, one in which he thanks his “highly valued, loyal and unwavering supporters” – and one in which he warns against fake social media accounts pretending to be him.
