A Simple Favor 2 gets the green light from Amazon Studios. Six years after the first film.
Tonight, Amazon Studios confirms that (after a few years of back and forth) they are making A Simple Favor 2 with Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick.
As well A Simple Favor-cast Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, Ian Ho and Kelly McCormack.
That A Simple Favor 2 is being made by Amazon Studios – along with Lionsgate – which means it’s coming to Prime Video.
Maybe right on streaming.

Filming will start this summer.
Again, the direction is by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, Ghostbusters) and screenwriter Jessica Sharzer, who wrote the first film based on the Darcey Bell novel of the same name.

In the first film from 2018, we follow single mom vlogger Stephanie (Anna Kendrick) who tries to find out what happened when her best friend Emily (Blake Lively) suddenly disappears from their small town. Under mysterious circumstances. Spoilers are actually allowed after six years, but we won’t reveal what happens.
The film is not a masterpiece, but is easily the most entertaining thriller comedy of 2018 – and definitely worthy of a sequel. That this hasn’t happened yet is funny. Let’s add that afterwards this has almost become a queer cult favourite, partly because of the atmosphere between Blake and Anna.
The budget of the film was only 20 million dollars, but it grossed almost 100 million dollars in theaters
