The football club TIL 2020 plays in the 1st division for women.
The players were informed of the board’s decision at a meeting on Wednesday evening.
– This is a difficult decision, and a demanding and complex matter. Our primary focus now is to establish calm around the team and to ensure that the sporting investment does not suffer, writes chairman Linda Wilhelmsen in a press release.
To NRK, Wilhelmsen says that she cannot say anything about the reason for the removal of compulsory work.
– The reactions were divided at the players’ meeting, when we told about the decision on Wednesday afternoon. Some were strongly emotional.
Wilhelmsen states that the board and Inauen have not agreed on a resignation, but that they will have further talks in the coming days.
– We treat this as any case between employer and employee, i.e. with full confidentiality, says Wilhelmsen.
It is not known what is the background for Inauen being deprived of the duty to work.
Assistant coach Edvard Vassmyr takes over as head coach until a new permanent solution is ready.
– We have confidence that the coaching team will take over the responsibility in a good way, says the chairman.
Emil Inauen was hired as the new head coach for TIL 2020 in January last year. He is originally from Switzerland, but has lived in Norway for around 14 years.
