Rescue manager at HRS Southern Norway, Vincent Roos, informs BA that a propeller plane from Widerøe reported brake problems on Tuesday afternoon.
– It is a plane with hydraulic problems that has prepared for a “high speed landing”. In practice, this means that they have lost braking power, Roos initially told BA.
The plane has landed, confirms operations manager at Flesland, Øystein Skaar. According to the police, the plane landed at 1529.
– I can confirm that we have had an emergency situation, and that the plane has come down to the ground, he says to BA.
Widerøe: – A “mayday” was reported
– We have received word from Bergen Airport that a plane about to land may have problems with landing, says Shahrooz Lahooti.
He is the duty commander at the 110 centre, and says that they have moved out with crews from four stations.
– We drive out according to the procedures we have for incidents like this, said duty commander Lahooti shortly after the call.
The plane was on its way to Kristiansand, and the main rescue center was notified of the problems at 1505.
Roos says that it is not an emergency message, but according to Widerøe, a “mayday” was reported.
– The plane on its way to Kristiansand had technical problems en route, and had to return to Flesland. I know that a “mayday” was announced, so all emergency vehicles were on site when the plane landed, says Widerøe’s communications manager, Catharina Solli.

She informs BA that the landing went safely.
The situation is back to normal, and the emergency services are about to return, the police report at 1548.
50 passengers on board
There must be no damage to either people or aircraft. According to Kolltveit, there were 50 passengers on board, in addition to three crew members. This is confirmed by Widerøe.

Big call out
At 1520, BA received a tip that a number of emergency services were on their way to the airport.
The air ambulance also left on its way to Flesland, but turned around shortly after landing, Flightradar shows.
Police operations manager Frode Kolltveit confirms that they sent “very many” resources towards Flesland, but that several patrols are already on their way back. They received the first message at 1507, and the plane landed at 1529.
– There was an emergency landing from the Widerøe plane. The landing itself must have gone as planned, Kolltveit tells BA.
Third in a short time
It is only nine days since the last time a Widerøe flight, which happened to also be on its way to Kristiansand, reported problems before landing at Flesland. At the time, the plane had engine problems, and the cabin was filled with smoke.
Solli at Widerøe says that it is both about completely different problems and a different aircraft type than last time.
– This is something completely different. Both parts are of course events we should have avoided and something we do not want our passengers to experience, but these events have nothing to do with each other.
