ARRANGEMENT: Fana Music Club has a long tradition of organizing a family day at Kirkevoll School every year on 1 May. On this family day, absolutely everyone is welcome and there are activities for both young and old. The event is well known to people in Fanabygden, but we at Fana Musikklag hope that people from other areas will also want to participate. There are plenty of parking spaces in the area and good cycle paths. We encourage everyone to take the children to an enjoyable activity. Young people of all ages probably benefit from tearing themselves away from mobile phones and computers for a few hours and getting out of the house.

The family day at Kirkevoll school opens at 11.00 and stays open until 15.00.
On the family day, we have a bouncy castle, wheel of fortune, magician, face painting, various lotteries, darts at balloons, football flash, sponge toss, fishing pond with guaranteed catch and much more. Some activities are free and others cost a little money. It is possible to use both cash, bank cards and Vipps.
We hope many people want to meet villagers, neighbors and other acquaintances over a cup of coffee and a piece of cake in the cafe. The corps members are planning cake baking, buns and waffles both for the cafe and for our traditional cake lottery. The grill is fired up and we sell hamburgers and sausages. No need to cook dinner even that day!
It is very nice to see so many happy children participating in various activities. We often see that families come together with both children, young people, parents and grandparents. Some parents say that they always attended family day when they were children themselves. We who organize it think it is extra nice that this day has such strong traditions.
For us who play in Fana Musikklag, the event on 1 May is the year’s biggest charity and a very important contribution to the running of the band. Now we are crossing our fingers that the weather will be fine and we are looking forward to welcoming large and small to fun activities on the family day.
