Missing, Skien | This is what we know about missing Jan Mathisen (35) now

Both the police and relatives are now looking for the 35-year-old who disappeared under unclear circumstances. This is the most important thing we know about the case now:

• Jan Mathisen was last seen at Skotfoss on Saturday afternoon.
• He has short hair, is 170–175 cm tall and has a robust build. When he was last seen, he was wearing a bubble jacket, blue jeans, a white jumper and beige shoes.
• The police became aware of the case on Saturday at 17.39, when they received a report of a woman walking around outdoors with a hammer at Skotfoss in Skien. A patrol went to the scene and got control of the woman, who was taken away by the police. Jan Mathisen visited this woman at the weekend, and has not been seen since.

• Annie Sandersen in the police informs TA on Wednesday that no one has been charged or suspected of anything criminal in the case.
• Mathisen’s bank card and mobile phone were left in the apartment of the woman he was visiting.
• He has an address in Holmestrand now, but lived in various places in Skien and Grenland for several years until autumn 2023. He changed his name a couple of years ago, and was previously called Jan Moskvil Mathisen.
• On Wednesday, his sister, Beate Moskvil, and a number of other friends and relatives have a private search operation at Skotfoss, where they also hand out leaflets with a wanted notice and an invitation to call the police on 02800 if anyone has information in the case.
• The police have searched with a drone, crews and dogs. On Wednesday they have a survey at Skotfoss. They have also secured recordings from surveillance videos in the area and notified the taxi companies in Grenland about the missing man.
