– BIFF is facilitating a unique communication collaboration with the University of Bergen. The festival has shown a unique ability to create good collaborative arenas that contribute to making the university’s research available to the general public, says jury leader for Pinar Heggernes in a press release.

The Christie Prize is awarded annually by the University of Bergen to a person or institution that has contributed to good interaction between research, education and the outside world.

The festival’s unique will to bring about cooperation that benefits the general public is highlighted in the jury’s justification for the award.

– We are enormously grateful for the recognition of being awarded the Christie prize. It gives us extra courage and encouragement to continue the work of spreading knowledge through film, says Kristian Fyllingsnes, festival manager at BIFF.
