On Monday, electricity prices will be the highest in central Norway. Between 6 and 7 p.m., the electricity price there will be NOK 1.99 per kilowatt hour (kWh).

It will be most expensive in central Norway.

In south-east, south-west and west Norway, the price will be NOK 1.86 per kWh at its highest, and in northern Norway it will be NOK 1.32, figures from hvakosterstrommen.no show.

Watch out for these times

In South-East and South-West Norway, i.e. OA’s catchment area, there will be an average price for electricity of 93.3 øre per kilowatt hour (kWh) on Monday and a maximum price of NOK 1.86. Also, the hour immediately before and the two following hours cost significantly more than the rest of the day.

The maximum price on Monday of NOK 1.86 per kWh is between 6 and 7 p.m. It is NOK 1.015 higher than Sunday and 96.2 øre higher than the same day last year.

Also cheapest in the country

If you disregard the electricity subsidy, but include VAT (25 per cent), consumption tax (15.84 øre per kWh) and fee to Enova (1 øre per kWh), the maximum price in South-East and South-West Norway would be NOK 2.53.

90 per cent of the price above 73 øre is covered by the electricity subsidy, and the subsidy is calculated hour by hour. This means that in the hour the price is NOK 1.86, NOK 1.017 is covered.

That’s how much power you use

One kilowatt hour corresponds to electricity consumption of one kilowatt over one hour. A ten-minute shower uses an average of around 4.5 kWh, but this depends on the temperature and how much water the shower head delivers.

On Saturday, the maximum and minimum prices in the country were respectively 87.1 øre per kWh and 38.5 øre per kWh. On the same day last year, it was 89.7 øre per kWh and 2.009 øre per kWh.
