Drevland is clear that she believes that openness helps both herself and others in a similar situation.

– I think it’s really nice to be able to share, and I think it’s important for people that I do it. And that’s important to me, because it makes things a little easier, says the former Bergen mayor.

– Because we all just have to do the best we can, adds Drevland.

– Don’t know much

Drevland has been through several treatments for the disease since she received the terrifying diagnosis just over a year ago, and feels that her body is responding well so far.

– I receive treatment often. Not chemotherapy and that kind of thing, but the body responds well. So things are going well for now, she says.

At the same time, she is clear that she lives well despite the diagnosis:

– I have a lot to do. I go to the theatre, to a café, go out to eat, have a glass of wine. I’m enjoying myself, she smiles.

As for the time ahead, she doesn’t quite know what awaits her, but she is positive:

– I don’t know much, so I’m keen to live well as long as I live, states the 76-year-old.
