The Guardian reports on the plans of Aniston’s Echo Films, which on the script side has hired Diablo Cody, who wrote the script for the Oscar winner “Juno” and is also behind “Young Adult” and “Ricki and the Flash”.

So far, no details have been revealed about what’s in store when the 1980 film is lifted into today’s reality.

But in the original it was about three female colleagues – played by Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin – who conspired to take revenge on a boss described as “sexist, selfish, lying, hypocritical and hypocritical”.

Fonda had the idea, and made sure to bring on board both Tomlin and Parton – who made the song of the same name that is still playing on the radio.

“9 to 5” grossed over $100 million, and spawned spin-offs in the form of TV series, a musical and the 2011 film “Horrible Bosses,” in which Jennifer Aniston played the evil boss when the roles were reversed.

There have been thoughts about a sequel with the original actors, but the idea was finally dropped in 2019. Three years later, Dolly Parton appeared in the last episode of the TV series “Grace and Frankie”, in which Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin played the main roles.
