For over a decade, Princess Kate (42) has held the royal title. She married Prince William (41) in 2011 and since then she has stood firmly by his side.
She has been on countless missions for the British royal house, both with her husband and alone, and now King Charles (75) pays tribute to her daughter-in-law’s work.
Has passed by her husband
According to, among others, the Daily Mail, on Monday she received a very special tribute from the king for her service, namely the order “The Order of the Companions of Honour”.
According to the British tabloid newspaper, this is the first time a royal has received the order, which was founded by King George V in 1917.
According to The Telegraph, Charles gave his daughter-in-law the order to thank her for her support as Britain’s regent.
– A historic and moving gesture from the king to his daughter-in-law in a tough time. Princess Kate is actually the first royal to receive this order, says Se og Hør’s royal house expert Caroline Vagle to Dagbladet.
Big debt: – Screening his daughter
– British media write that it is a thank you for her service as a member of the royal family, and her support and interest in the arts. It is without a doubt a great honour, she continues.
Vagle says that although no other royal has it, Kate is in good company.
– Well-known names such as Paul McCartney, Elton John and David Attenborough have also received it, she says.
Earlier this year, it became known that both Charles and Kate have cancer. What type of cancer is so far not known.
