In the past year, the Spellemann-nominated artist Carina Dahl (38) has been plagued by a growing fraud problem.
A number of profiles have been created in Dahl’s name on social media, but it is not the artist himself who is behind these profiles.

Despite the fact that Dahl has continuously warned his followers against the fake users, several have gone astray and been scammed for money. In addition, the 38-year-old has become furious that her name is being dragged into the mud.
Now the artist has taken action, and the matter is now in the hands of the police.
– Furiously pissed off
It has almost become a sport to create fake profiles in Carina Dahl’s name, the 38-year-old is to be believed.
For almost two years, the artist has been bothered by strangers pretending to be her online, and the fraudsters have managed to trick several people.
– This has gone on for so long, and I have been so tired, says Carina Dahl to Nettavisen.

Every day she receives tens of messages from both known and unknown people wondering whether these users are actually her or not.
The “Best på fest” singer does not hide that it has made her see red:
– I have been furiously pissed off and fed up. I find it very surprising that there are many people who do not realize that it is a fraud, she says and adds:
– It is quite unpleasant for me that my name is blackened in this way.
Those behind the fake profiles send out a series of messages, especially to strange men. The messages are often of a sexual nature, which frustrates the singer.
– There are quite a few wives out there wondering why “Carina Dahl” sends sleazy messages to their husbands, she says, grinning a little at how unnatural it had been.
Scammed for hundreds of thousands
But this case is not something that Carina Dahl laughs about a lot.
It is not just crude messages that are sent out. The fraudsters also ask for money, and the 38-year-old cites an example where a fake user allegedly asked fans for money because “the artist’s career is at stake”.
Several people have bitten, she says:
– Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who tip money to them, she says and continues:
– They have defrauded countless people for a large sum of money. We are talking hundreds of thousands.
The artist has received several messages from people who have tipped the people who have pretended to be Dahl, and it has been anything from NOK 1,000 to NOK 20,000.
– Carrying on in my name is clearly insane business. And the fact that people want to give “me” money is very strange, she says, adding that it is sad that people fall for such scams.
Under police investigation
There is no doubt that the fraud case has been a great strain for Dahl. The 38-year-old’s busy everyday life and artist career do not allow much time to spare, but recently she has had to set aside time for police meetings.
She says that the case is under investigation, and it has already yielded results.

Dahl reveals that she knows two of the identities of those behind the fake accounts, a man and a woman on opposite sides.
– We have names, numbers and addresses, so this will be very exciting to follow further, says Dahl.
Now the 38-year-old has hope that the fraud will finally come to an end:
– I am so “fat” tired, so for me the most important thing is that it stops. It just has to be stopped now.
Dahl has compassion for those who have been exposed to the fraud, and she hopes that no one else will be subjected to it in the future.
– It’s extremely bad to hear that people have gone astray, and it is very important that people understand that this is done in such a way that no more people are deceived.
However, Dahl is not the only one who has experienced fraud attempts. Last year, a number of other well-known personalities were exposed to the same thing, including Harald Rønneberg (49), Guro Solberg and Aurora Gude (32).
The latter also went to report after she was abused in one. The case was eventually dropped by the police, which the influencer was very upset about.
– I felt that I was thrown under the bus. Nor did I get any feedback from the police on what to do. It was just a layoff, that was it, Gude said in an earlier interview with Nettavisen.
