The other day it became known that “Beverly Hills 90210” star Tori Spelling (50) has filed for divorce from her husband of 17 years, Dean McDermott (57).
Now, according to People, the 50-year-old is breaking her silence and putting into words why she wants to divorce in her own podcast, “misSPELLING”.
Tori Spelling says she is sorry to divorce her husband.
Struggling financially: – Difficult
– I have never felt more alone. I don’t feel like I’m worth loving. That’s the truth. And it’s something that’s just there. It’s not something I wanted or created. It starts when you are young. And it is not easy to change. I don’t know if I can, says Tori Spelling.
Furthermore, the “Beverly Hills 90210” star says that she already wanted to divorce Dean McDermott 15 years ago.
– People always say, “Hey, they managed it for 18 years.” I shouldn’t have done it until I was 18.” And I think he (Dean, ed.) would say the same thing if we had a proper one-on-one conversation. Then it would have ended much earlier, says Spelling.
According to court documents, she cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the breakup, with an official separation dated June 17, 2023.
Spelling, who initiated the divorce, wants to be awarded custody of the couple’s four minor children, while it appears she agrees that McDermott be granted visitation rights.
She also requests that McDermott pay spousal support, and that he not have the opportunity to request the same from her.
The details of the couple’s joint assets and properties will be decided during the divorce proceedings, as Spelling does not mention any prenuptial agreement in the documents.
The divorce marks the end of a marriage that has been in the media spotlight since its inception, and which now appears to have come to an end.
