Italian Damiano David (24) became a world star overnight when he and the band Måneskin won Eurovision in 2021.
Online newspapers were quick to inform curious readers that the vocalist is not single, but actually engaged.
On Thursday, he informs his 5.2 million followers that it is over between him and influencer and activist Giorgia Soleri (27). The relationship lasted six years.
It happens after a video has gone viral on social media, which is supposed to show the artist kissing another woman in a nightclub.

In his statement, David apologizes for the video and writes that it was not how they wanted to handle the situation.
He informs that the breach should have happened a couple of days ago, and denies that there has been any kind of betrayal.
The artist concludes by saying that he hopes that the incident will not have a negative impact on Giorgia’s reputation and asks for respect for privacy.
In May, the former couple shared their seemingly ever-blooming love for each other on Instagram.
The couple have regularly shared glimpses of everyday life in Rome, where they have lived with their three cats.
Soleri has not yet commented on the breach, but has been very active on social media in the past 24 hours. She has launched her own make-up collection with the Italian brand Mulac.
