New billion contract for Subsea 7

--

The underwater contractor Subsea 7 announces on Friday afternoon that the company has been awarded a large contract by the Turkish Petroleum Offshore Technology Center for the development of the Sakarya field in the Black Sea, off Turkey.

The company defines a “large contract” as a contract with a size of between 300 million and 500 million dollars – corresponding to somewhere between 3.2 and 5.4 billion Norwegian kroner.

The contract will be entered as book income in the second quarter of 2024.

Extension

An initial contract was awarded in May last year to a consortium consisting of SLB, Subsea Integration Alliance and Saipem, for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the second development phase of the Sakarya gas field.

According to the company, today’s award expands the existing contract with the Subsea Integration Alliance to include the installation of Turkey’s first floating production unit (FPU) as part of the Phase 2a development. The Subsea Integration Alliance is a strategic collaboration between OneSubsea and Subsea7.

According to the company, Subsea7’s task will include the installation and integration of risers, umbilicalsconnections and anchoring systems with the FPU.
