The case is updated

– It is with great sadness that we now unfortunately have to say that we were unable to come to a solution, says a press release from Boligpartner on Tuesday.

Boligpartner’s marketing director, Geir Thomassen, tells GD just before 5 p.m. that Boligpartner has just held a general meeting with its employees, but does not wish to make any comments beyond what is stated in the press release.

It is the end of one of the country’s largest house and cabin suppliers after 30 years, about a week after the company sent out a serious message that all the company’s construction sites are immediately closed for deliveries and production.

– We are in a very demanding situation and are now working to find a solution. It is a temporary stop, CEO Eskild Wedvik of BP Gruppen Norge AS tells GD on 24 April.

Have sent out a dramatic letter – full stop on the construction sites

Tuesday 30 April is the end. A tender is announced in the company.

– It is very heavy. It is one of the worst things you can imagine, says Wedvik to Hamar Arbeiderblad.

– How many of your employees are affected by the tender?

– There are 126, but we will get back to this more on a later occasion. We refer to what is in the press release now, says Wedvik kindly to HA.

Lillehammer department

Furthermore, Boligpartner wishes to point out that all independent dealers are not covered by the bankruptcy and continue their operations.

GD has not yet received confirmation whether the department in Lillehammer is affected, but Thomassen explains that the department belongs to Boligpartner AS.

50 percent drop

– Our thoughts go out to everyone involved. We especially think of all our customers, employees, dealers, suppliers and partners who have stood by our side for many years. Together we have fought, and had great faith in finding a solution for the company. Unfortunately, we have not succeeded, says Wedvik in the press release.

In the last year, nationally speaking, the construction of only 13,642 new housing units has started, which results in a drop of over 50 per cent in two years, the press release further states.

The owners of BP Gruppen Norge AS have injected liquidity into the group of NOK 71 million in an attempt to save the company. Even with increased capital, extensive cost cuts, downsizing and restructuring, BoligPartner has not been able to adapt to the sharp fall in the new housing market.

– We are proud of everything we have achieved over these 30 years. Together with our skilled dealers, we have created one of Norway’s best-known brands in housing construction, and realized over 15,000 housing and cabin dreams across the country, says Wedvik.
