Lawyer Marianne Klausen, who had to resign in the autumn after being illegally appointed as head of the complaints committee for students, has now been hired by APS’ health minister Ingvild Kjerkol to defend her against the accusations of cheating.

This is reported by TV2.

It was in September that the Ministry of Education removed Marianne Klausen as head of the Joint Complaints Board because the appointment contravened the rules that members of the board can be appointed for a maximum of two terms.

Now she has been hired by the Minister of Health.

– We are faced with such a special situation that it is natural for Kjerkol and her co-author to seek legal assistance, says Kjerkol’s lawyer Marianne Klausen to TV 2.

On Wednesday next week, the Board for Student Affairs at Nord University will hear the accusations against Health Minister Ingvild Kjerkol, writes TV2.

Nord University has previously said that they will not say whether there is cheating in Kjerkol’s master’s thesis, but Kjerkol said in February that it is natural for her to make it public.

125 text similarities have been discovered in Kjerkol’s master’s thesis in health management from 2021. Kjerkol has said that errors in the editing meant that some formulations from other people’s works “remained” in the thesis.

When Klausen was reappointed as head of the Joint Complaints Board in violation of the law, the ministry failed to check whether the deputy head would take over.
