In a new military package, France is to send armored vehicles to Ukraine in early 2025.

France is to deliver hundreds of armored vehicles to Ukraine by early next year as part of a new military package for the country.

Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu says in an interview with the newspaper Le Tribune on Sunday that Ukraine, among other things, needs such armored vehicles to hold the long front line.

France is in the process of upgrading its fleet of armored vehicles.

The old vehicles, which were put into service from 1979 and are still very usable, will go directly to Ukraine in large quantities, says Lecornu.

He said France is also sending more air defenses to Ukraine and that 78 howitzers are on their way soon.

The number of artillery shells going to Ukraine will be increased, the French defense minister said.
