Company Lauritzen, Alexandra Rotan | Reveals mobile rules under “Kompanie Lauritzen”

There is no doubt that the participants in “Kompani Lauritzen” experience both physically and mentally demanding challenges.

So far in the season, we have seen the participants go through both demanding obstacle courses and long days with both little food and sleep. And it may seem that the participants live under a strict regime, where there is almost no time to relax.

But through an Instagram story, participant Alexandra Rotan (27) can reveal that time has been set aside to use the mobile phone in the evening and that the cameras do not film at this time.

Got to use my own mobile phone

On arrival at the military camp in Åndalsnes, all participants will be deprived of their mobile phones. However, that does not mean that the phones are “gone for good”.

According to Rotan, the participants did not have access to a mobile phone for the first ten days, but after that time was set aside to be on their own mobile phone.

– Then we got the mobile for an hour in the evening, every third day! It was such a great physical and mental strain to be in there, that some heavy bags appeared under the eyes and in the corner of the mouth, writes Rotan to a picture of himself.

Furthermore, Rotan shares some photos and video clips that do not appear on TV and writes that she FaceTimed with her family after 10 days of no contact.

Participant Silje Nordnes (39) also confirms to Nettavisen that the participants had access to their mobile phones several evenings during the recording.

– It is locked in a box, so we get it for an hour every third time. We could not post any photos from there on social media, and the cast had not been made public when we were there, she tells Nettavisen.

– I would like to believe that some of those who participated are dependent on having contact with work collaboration and who have agreements to post things. In addition, there were some with children at home who depended on talking to their children and partner at home.

Nordnes had previously agreed on leave with NRK and was able to put all work aside, but she still took advantage of the opportunity for several phone calls with her family.

The production responds

In front of Nettavisen, the communications manager for “Kompani Lauritzen”, Siril Vatne Meling, confirms that the participants are allowed to take their mobile phones with them during the recording.

– During the recording of “Kompani Lauritzen”, hours of content are filmed every day, where the focus is unity, mastery, personal growth and community. That the participants are occasionally allowed to use a mobile phone is not something we consider relevant content in the finished programme, says Vatne Meling.

Furthermore, she says that the participants have access to a mobile phone to call family and friends, for example, but critical situations have nevertheless arisen where the mobile time has been extended.

– It has happened that the participants have been given some extra phone time when we have progressed further into production. Should situations arise where it is critical that someone gets access by phone, this is done via the commander, and this is taken into account depending on how time-critical it is.

However, when the participants are recording, it is not publicly known who will be in the upcoming season, and therefore they have taken certain precautions to ensure that the list of participants is not shared with the outside world:

– There are no rules for what the participants are allowed to use their phones for, but as it is not yet publicly known during the recording who are the participants in “Company Lauritzen”, they are naturally not allowed to reveal it publicly, she concludes .
