The case is updated!
P4 profile Even Rognlien has passed away, reports VG.
In a press release, P4 manager Kenneth Andresen writes that Rognlien passed away after a short stay in hospital at Akershus University Hospital on 31 October, aged 49.
“A well-known and beloved voice for radio listeners for nearly 30 years has fallen silent. Even was a radio man to the tips of his fingers. He could give the longest and most committed posts about transitions and about getting it “to sit tight”, writes Andresen.
The P4 manager describes Rognlien as a perfectionist.
“Nobody was a bigger critic of Even than Even himself. Watching him excel at the mixing desk was like watching a concert pianist let loose on Rachmaninov’s third. It was virtuosity”.
Rognlien was known to many from the program “Midt i trafiken”.
It was VG who first mentioned the matter.
Artist Didrik Solli Tangen tells Se og Hør that he is affected by the sad news.
– I have worked a bit with Even at P4 in my career, and we have done a lot of fun together. This is a terrible shame.
Rognlien has been the channel’s music manager, and was a presenter before he took on the role of manager. In 2020, Rognlien was named presenter of the year in the music-driven radio genre.
