Saturday 8 June arranges Norwegian VFX Association an AI seminar in the capital. Later in the day, the association will award a new Norwegian VFX award at Vega Scene. The AI seminar will explore what AI can do for the VFX and animation industry, but it will also touch on what AI means for the rest of the film industry as well as virtual production.

Morten Moen, chairman of the board of the Norwegian VFX Association, can promise a deep dive into this new era that the VFX industry has immersed itself in longer than most. Among the profiles that will hold posts, we find Morten Goodwinwhich will go into more detail about how AI affects the animated film. Theodor Groeneboom will touch on the interaction between AI, machine learning and visual effects, while Jan Christian Frugård will show how he uses ChatGPT4, Midjourney, and his own robots in the work of conceptualizing and visualizing projects as a director. Johannes Skoog will guide us into the transformative world of virtual production and show how AI can be applied in various ways there.

On the evening of 8 June, a new Norwegian VFX award will therefore be awarded.

Morten Moen explains the background for the new price as follows:

– The Norwegian VFX industry has developed tremendously in recent years both with effects on Norwegian films such as the North Sea and by working on major foreign productions. Storm Studios for example took home the first Norwegian VFX Emmy earlier this year. There are some awards in Norway with VFX categories (Amanda, Gullruten and Gullbranson), but we need a Norwegian award that embraces the entire VFX industry and that focuses on the quality of Norwegian VFX where the jury is professionals in the VFX industry. The award also has its own categories for students.
