Work will soon begin on the upgrade of Smiths Road, with Council directing the generous grant funding received from the NSW Government to significantly improve this important rural road connection for residents, farmers, and all road users in the area.

Crews will be on-site from Tuesday 14 May 2024 to undertake a survey of the area and test samples of the existing pavement material, with construction work on these upgrades to commence in full from Wednesday 23 October 2024, weather permitting.

The current estimate for the completion of this work is Monday 30 June 2025, weather permitting, with the community to be advised of any changes to this date.

Motorists traveling on Smiths Road during this upgrade project are advised to be alert for road crews and heavy machinery, changes to traffic conditions, and to expect delays throughout the time that work is underway.

Please observe all roadworks speed limits and signage and drive to the conditions.

We thank residents and motorists for their patience and understanding while we work to improve safety and driving conditions on Smiths Road.
