The female electric kick cyclist was heading south on Evjenvegen in Tomasjord when the accident occurred. In the collision with a car, which is said to have come down from Tomasjordvegen, she received what are described as serious injuries.
The woman was taken to the University Hospital of Northern Norway (UNN) for further treatment.
Evjenvegen was closed for just under two hours for technical investigations.
Driver’s license confiscated
The police confirmed on Saturday that the driver’s license has been confiscated pending further investigation.
Operations manager Rune Nilsen informs Nordlys that the driver is a woman in her 60s.
On Saturday, he does not know how serious the injuries are to the woman who was hit.

Large damage numbers
In the last three years, there have been a total of 502 serious accidents involving scooters, the newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad recently reported.
223 of the accidents have occurred after the authorities tightened the regulations for scooter use. In June 2022, helmets were required for children under 15. A 12-year age limit for the use of electric scooters was also introduced.
At the same time, the blood alcohol limits were tightened significantly.
