Lisa Niemi and Patrick Swayze were married for 34 years. Now she shares sad words after his death.

He began with several small roles, but of course the big breakthrough came in 1987 with “Dirty Dancing”, where Swayze played dance instructor Johnny Castle.

Despite having a low budget, the film was a huge success, winning awards and rave reviews.

In addition to a soundtrack that is still played today, many will remember the scene where Swayze lifts Jennifer Gray at the end.

The success continued into the 1990s, when Swayze starred in “Ghost”, which also became a big hit.

The following year he starred opposite Keanu Reeves in “Point Break”, and he was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in “To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar”.

This success also earned him a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

It was also in the 1990s that Patrick Swayze was named the world’s sexiest man.

But despite the title and success, the actor’s heart beat only for Lisa Niemi.

The couple married in 1975 and were together for a total of 34 years.

Still watching his movies

In the late 2000s, the actor was unfortunately diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Although he managed to appear in several films and the TV series “The Beast”, which was his last, the terrible disease finally took his life.

This year marks 15 years since Swayze passed away, and in a new interview with People, his wife Lisa Niemi shares some heartbreaking words.

She tells the magazine that she still watches his movies every now and then when she misses him.

– I still love “Ghost” and “Point Break”, and every time we turn on MTV, of course, I see Patrick dancing in “Dirty Dancing” … it makes me happy.

He speaks to me

Lisa also says that she has great faith in “signs” from the afterlife, and she has experienced several times that Patrick finds a way to communicate with her when she needs it.

– Mostly I hear him in my head. I hear him talking to me and telling me things.

Lisa says that he occasionally asks her what she is doing or gives her advice.

But mostly she meets him in her dreams.

– Especially in the first, maybe the first 10 years, he appeared and didn’t speak to me out loud, but he spoke to me telepathically, and that was a great comfort to me because I missed him so terribly, she says to People.

Finally, she mentions a dream that she still remembers. It came shortly after Patrick’s death.

She had a friend that she often called for advice, and Lisa told her that she felt like her whole life was in ruins.

The friend later told her that she had said a prayer to Patrick that night for him to visit his wife.

– And you know what? I dreamed that he appeared and held me in his arms, and I cried like a baby for a long, long time as he held me.

Patrick Swayze died on September 14, 2009. He was 57 years old.

It must be absolutely terrible to lose your partner.
