RÆLINGEN / OSLO (Dagbladet): A dead person has been found in a burnt-out car at the popular Myrdammen bathing area in Rælingen on Romerike.

This is reported by the Eastern Police District.

– It is currently unknown who this person is and what has happened. The police have launched an investigation, the police write.

The scene has now been cordoned off, and crime scene technicians are now examining the burnt-out car.

Alerted by passerby

The police received a report about the discovery at 07.41 from a random passer-by.

The car should have already been burnt out, operations manager Ronny Hellerud Samuelsen in the East police district tells Dagbladet.

– Now the police will carry out further investigations to determine who this person is, says Samuelsen.

As far as the police know, there were no witnesses to the fire itself.

Moved out

The Lower Romerike fire and rescue service was also notified about the burnt-out car on Tuesday morning.

– We sent a car to the scene. When we arrived, there was no fire in the car. It was cold and the fire probably happened during the night. We assumed that there was a person in the car and therefore contacted the police, who took over on the spot, duty manager Arne Nurmi in East 110 central tells Romerikes Blad.

Dagbladet updates the case.
