Awards and honors, E18 | Budstikka won an award for E18 reports

--

– It was great fun, says Budstikka photographer Eva Groven shortly after the award ceremony.

It was she who had the idea for the reports that won the Open class at Akershus Journalistslag’s annual SNUS conference, which is being held this weekend at Fornebu.

– The E18 development is a very large project. I drove past Ramstadsletta almost every day, and saw that a lot happened that could be the basis for a report, says Groven.

– And then we had previously made the report about the terraced houses in Riiser Larsens vei which were demolished. It also provided inspiration, she adds.

HERE YOU CAN JOIN A WHOLE DAY AT E18

“A day on the E18” consists of 24 different stories, all of which are connected to the work on the new motorway. Here you meet, among other things, workers, commuters and neighbors – in addition to taking part in a funeral in Høvik church, which is right next to the construction site.

– It turned out largely as we had planned. And it’s fun when you work together in a team, I think it’s important that you continue with it every now and then, sums up Groven – who carried out the project together with colleagues Mette Sjølie, Jørgen Dahl Kristensen and Knut Bjerke.

The jury writes this in its reasoning about why “A day on E18” is the winner of the Open class:

“The jury agreed early on about the candidate for the Open class. The candidate had a good idea, which involved several parts of the editorial team. The project consists of articles, photos and videos. The result was a series of exciting reports over the course of a whole day. The project deals with an extensive development with major consequences for the residents of Asker and Bærum. The award goes to Eva Groven and the editors at Budstikka for the reportage series “A day on E18”.

A day on E18

E18 lies like a pulsating vein through Asker and Bærum. Right now it will be new, and the work affects us all in one way or another.

Budstikka took the trip out to see which stories we would encounter during a day in March. It resulted in 24 unique moments that are all linked to the same path.
