Snapchat has launched several new features in the latest version of the app which is out now.

The most useful one is that you get the option to edit messages after they are late. This is how you can fix embarrassing typos, as long as you do it within five minutes and before the recipient has seen the message.

Snapchat states that this option will be available to those who subscribe to Snapchat+ first. Anyone who does not pay for Snapchat will have the same opportunity, but on a later occasion.

If you press your message before five minutes have passed, you can change it.

Several new features

Emoji Reactions:

In addition to the editing feature, Snapchat users can now apply emoji reactions to messages. Today, you can react to a message with a small handful of emojis, but now all of them become available to you, just like when you write a regular message via iMessage or other standard messaging apps for Android.

Map Reactions:

If you share your location with your friends, you also get something called map reactions. Then you can, for example, send a wave to friends you pass on the way to school, or a heart to someone you see has come home after you’ve met.

More AI stuff:

A new AI-powered reminder feature is also on the way, which lets you ask Snapchat AI to remind you of important deadlines. The AI will then set up a countdown to make sure you don’t forget important events.

When we tried this feature, the AI notified us of the reminder, but only as a message in the chat, and without us getting a notification to the home screen.

Exactly how AI plays into the feature is also unclear, as reminder apps have been around for decades.

Do you share your location on Snap?
