Ski WC Trondheim will be historic.

– On 5 March next year, the public will have a very exciting experience at the cross-country stadium in addition to the ski jumping hill. Then there is competition in both the classic “Team Sprint” and “Para Sprint” for women and men “for one another”. In the evening, a total of 18 para-medals will therefore be awarded at the Medal Plaza in Trondheim city center with many thousands of spectators, says WC manager Åge Skinstad.

For the first time in history, the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships are being held with a para competition included. There will be para-sprints for standing, sitting and visually impaired for both women and men during the Ski WC Trondheim 2025.

During the FIS spring meeting in Portoroz, Slovenia, WC manager Åge Skinstad and operational manager Kristin Mürer Stemland today presented the final program for the para-competition during WC Trondheim 2025, which was recently adopted. Qualification for the para-sprint will be on Tuesday 4 March and the finals will take place on Wednesday 5 March 2025.

– Our ambition to carry out the most sustainable ski WC ever. It is not least about inclusion and equal opportunities, says Skinstad in a press release.

– It is a large and exciting operation to include a para competition in a skiing WC, says operational manager Kristin Mürer Stemland.

– Tracks must be adapted, team service must be arranged, transport and accommodation must be in place and NRK must broadcast everything live. We are really looking forward to getting this together. It will be an experience for both performers, support staff, spectators and TV audiences, says Stemland.

– The Ski WC Trondheim 2025 wants to contribute to doing its very best so that the sustainability goal is reached, so that the next organizer in Falun 2027 can take the experience with them and be even better than us, stresses WC boss Skinstad.

– If we are to take skiing a step further in the right direction of sustainability, we must do it together.
