Eliteserien – Stryk

--
  • Fire – Rosenborg 3 – 0 (1 – 0)

Brann and Rosenborg both lost points in the previous elite series round.

With a win, the home team would take over the top of the league table. It was expected that Rosenborg would make it difficult for the Bergens.

But there was mostly only one team on the pitch.

The home team did not give up until three balls were in the net, and at the same time it could have been even more.

Wild scenes

The people of Bergen were praised for the performance of TV 2’s Jesper Mathisen.

– It has been a demonstration of power by Eirik Horneland’s men, Mathisen concluded just before the end.

Rosenborg, on the other hand, gained more momentum.

– Rosenborg has received a lot of praise for what they have shown at the beginning of the season purely in terms of playing. But it was a defeat for Bodø/Glimt, a defeat for Fredrikstad and definitely a defeat here, pointed out TV 2’s expert Jesper Mathisen towards the end of the match.

The big victory over Rosenborg ensures that the red-clad men from Bergen top the Eliteserien with 14 points after seven games. Bodø/Glimt and Molde are one point behind with two and one game less played respectively.

Dream start

Brann took the lead after three minutes.

Ole Didrik Blomberg scored 1-0. The youngster Volden lost the ball in the back row and gave Brann a gift package. Blomberg did everything right and headed the ball in an arc over Sander Tangvik.

– It is magnificent. He never gets close to that Sander Tangvik. An early score, that’s the dream for the coaching staff. Cold shower for Rosenborg, concludes TV 2’s Øyvind Alsaker after the opening goal.

– A terrible opening for Rosenborg. There were also two strong warnings before the scoring. There, the stadium completely caught fire in the heat, expert commentator Jesper Mathisen follows up.

Aune Heggebø scored 2-0 for Brann after a lovely cross from Niklas Castro three minutes into the second half.

Minutes later, Brann gets a penalty kick, but Emil Kornvig skated it far over.

Later in the half, substitute Niklas Castro showed himself with a nice volley.

– Boys against men

Brann had complete control, especially in the first 15 minutes.

– A quarter with a class difference at Brann Stadium, concludes Alsaker.

– There has been a formidable advantage to the home team. Rosenborg is simply struggling tremendously. Boys against men in the first 16 minutes, Mathisen follows up.

Rosenborg became more involved in the game later in the half, but the away team did not get any closer than Emil Fredriksen’s shot over the goal just before the break.

– Unbelievable

That result meant that nothing was decided until the last 45 minutes.

But Brann continued to dominate in the second half and took three very important points at the top of the Eliteserien.

Rosenborg has nine points after six games and is currently in 5th place. Alfred Johansson’s crew has three straight losses in the series and cup.

Brann meets Lillestrøm in the next round, while Rosenborg meets Molde.
