Filip Skari is one of five runners on the men’s side who have won a place on next season’s junior national cross-country team.
Tuesday 30 April at 13:16It is clear after the Norwegian Skiing Association presented the selection on Tuesday.
The Skari name sounds good in cross-country skiing. Bente Skari is one of Norway’s great legends on the women’s side. Now son Filip is on his way up and forward.
The Nittedal runner has been given a place on next season’s junior national team together with Lars Heggen (Harestua), Mons Melbye (Årvoll), Halvor Kvennås (Byåsen) and Torjus Magnus Harbo (Fossum).
On the women’s side, the team consists of Milla Grosberghaugen Andreassen (Bækkelaget), Hanna Engesæter Sørbye (Røa), Eline Klevberg Lerfall (Lånke), Johanne Bjugan (Leksdal) and Veronika Vikhamar Schuler (Heming).
– We have selected ten very exciting runners. We have an extremely large number of talented juniors in Norway, so a draw like this will always be difficult. Results in the Junior WC and the Equinor Norwegian Cup combined are used as the basis for the selection of this year’s Equinor junior national team, says national team coach Kristian Dahl.
