Skistad made a complete turnaround

The new offer from the Norwegian Ski Association means that she can continue her efforts under coach Lage Sofienlund in Konnerud, but that she participates fully as a commercial member of the national team. It is not known whether she will take part in the association’s collective plan at all.

Skistad has trained locally with Konnerud since she withdrew from the recruiting national team.

– I am very happy to be back, and that I feel it is the best choice. The fact that I get to run my own system means a lot to me, and that was the most important thing leading up to the WC. There is nothing better than being able to do it together with the national team, she tells NTB.

Turned

She admits that she originally envisioned continuing her venture outside the national team.

– There is no hiding the fact that people thought it would be Konnerud this year. But when the national team comes up with an offer that is simply better, then you can’t be so “sassy”.

The offer from the national team also states that she will receive a scholarship from both the Norwegian Skiing Association and the Olympiatoppen. If she hadn’t been on the national team, she wouldn’t have gotten any of this, nor access to the Olympiatoppen premises.

– Goes underground

On Wednesday, Skistad was in place in Holmenkollen where the new teams were presented. After some marketing work together with the other athletes, she will once again “go underground” at Konnerud.

– I am really looking forward to getting some peace. I will be there until Beitostølen (the start of the season in November), she says.
