Another important game is in store when Liverpool travel to Goodison Park on Wednesday night. Diogo Jota and Conor Bradley are Liverpool’s only (recent) injury absences, in addition to several typical substitutes delivering the goods in the 3-1 win against Fulham at the weekend. Who gets the chance when the city rival is on the opposite side of the court?

Jürgen Klopp is making major changes to the team. In midfield, Harvey Elliott, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo are benched in favor of Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones and Alexis MacAllister. The latter is therefore expected to start in the deep role, with Jones and Szoboszlai ahead of him.

Going forward, Diogo Jota or Cody Gakpo are not in the squad, which makes the choices much easier for the German. Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez are back in the XI, with Luis Diaz out on the left. Jayden Danns and Harvey Elliott are the offensive options on the bench.

Many may wonder why Cody Gakpo is not in the squad. James Pearce in The Athletic reports that the Dutchman is out of the match due to his girlfriend’s upcoming birth.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin was uncertain for Everton before tonight’s game, but the forward has managed the settlement. He starts at the top, ahead of Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Lineups

Liverpool (4-3-3): Alisson – Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson – Alexis MacAllister – Dominik Szoboszlai – Curtis Jones – Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz.
