Manchester City striker Erling Braut Haaland becomes a game character in the mobile game Clash of Clans already this week.

It is the first time a real person has been added to the game.

In connection with a month-long football-inspired season in the game, the Norwegian football star will become the Barbarian King. In this regard, players should be able to either recruit Haaland to their village, or attack and destroy his village. Which will be perfect for Arsenal fans, writes The Verge.

Haaland has played the game for ten years

Haaland says he has played Clash of Clans for over 10 years, and was himself the one who contacted Supercell, the developers of the game, to get a collaboration. It apparently required minimal persuasion.

– When we heard that Erling Haaland was a fan of our game and wanted to collaborate with us, it was truly a dream situation, says Clash of Clans’ chief developer Stuart McGaw to The Verge.

Haaland discovered the game as a 10-year-old, and since then has built his own village in the game.

– I’ve been a huge fan of the game for a long time and know everything about it, so appearing as a game character is really cool, says Haaland, quoted by The Verge.

What exactly is Clash of Clans?

“Clash of Clans” is a popular mobile strategy game developed and published by the Finnish game company Supercell. The game was launched for iOS platforms in 2012 and for Android in 2013. In the game, you build your own village and create a clan, or join an existing clan.

The main objective is to build and defend your own village, while attacking other players’ villages to obtain resources such as gold and elixir, which are necessary to build and upgrade buildings and troops.
