Benjamin Deshon Provo alleges that he has been wrongfully dismissed, writes People. He has now sued Kanye West – or YesKanye West changed his name to Ye in 2021. – and seeks compensation.
According to the complaint, in April 2023, West “unreasonably and unreasonably began requiring Plaintiff and others to shave their heads,” despite Provo’s dreadlocks “as an exercise of his Muslim faith.”
Provo worked security at the private school Donda Academy and at a warehouse where West kept Yeezy clothing. He accuses West of “frequently yelling at and berating black employees.”
A representative for West has not responded to People’s request for comment.
Provo also claims that he was told to put himself and the paparazzi “at risk” by taking cameras, and that West demanded that “everyone associated with Donda throw away books related to Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X and other prominent figures in the black community”.
He started working for West around August 2021.
