– Significant delays are expected. Duration is currently unknown. We encourage all travelers to refer to the information they receive from their airline. We apologize for the inconvenience this causes. This is all the information we have at the moment. We will come back with more information, Avinor wrote in a press release just before 07:00 on Thursday morning.

For Kjevik’s part, it was passengers going on flights to Oslo, Amsterdam and Bergen who were hit on Thursday morning.

At 09.00 Avinor started with limited traffic, and at 09.35 they announced that the error has been corrected and that the airspace is gradually opening up to traffic.

– We are opening up the airspace over southern Norway. That means we can resume traffic as normal, says communications manager Monica Fasting in Avinor to NRK.

Despite this, there will be delays throughout the day.

– Avinor apologizes for the inconvenience this causes and asks all passengers to comply with the information they receive from their airline, the company reports.

– What happens next is that we gradually start up flights from all airports, says Fasting in Avinor.
