After a relatively gray Easter in several parts of the country, several people have been able to enjoy real Easter weather on the last day of the holiday.
From early morning, Bergen looked set to be among the big weather winners.
– Bergen can expect up to 15 degrees and sunshine today, said meteorologist Ingrid Halland Soldal and predicted a record for 2024 so far:
– It is likely to be the hottest day of the year so far in Bergen, which previously only had 13.3 degrees.
You can submit your fine weather photos from the 2nd Easter Sunday via the form at the bottom of this issue.
Clear call
The meteorologist believed that several places in Vestland could boast of good weather, and singled out Voss and Ullensvang in particular.
The exception was the Sognefjord.
– North of the Sognefjord, strong winds are expected, and up to stiff gales on the coast.
Meteorologist Halland Soldal also had a clear call for everyone who was going out to enjoy the fine weather.
– The sun is strong, so remember sunscreen and sunglasses anyway.
Marked weather difference
Warden at the Meteorological Institute in Oslo, Martin Grønerud, reported a weather divide that went quite markedly through the country.
– It is low temperature and cloud cover north of Stad, in Møre and Romsdal and Trøndelag. Even further north, as in Nordland, Troms and Finnmark, the weather will change. The exception is Finnmarksvidda, which looks set to have a nice day, Grønerud stated.
– But south of Stad, you have both the temperature and the sun with you today, pointed out Grønerud and noted that it must be welcome for many.
– Enjoy it while you can…
The meteorologist was also able to reassure those who feared that the heat would destroy the skiers.
– There will be minimal snowmelt after only one day of high temperatures without wind and rain, Grønerud explained and predicted a lovely day for skiing:
– For those who are in the mountains today, it will be a fantastic day with great ski tours. But remember to check for possible avalanche danger where you are.
At the same time, Grønerud warned that the fine weather has a clear time limit.
– Enjoy the day while you can. Large parts of southern Norway, such as in Eastern Norway and Western Norway, will experience considerably lower temperatures throughout the week. Bergen will also have a nice day on Tuesday, but then rain is expected from Wednesday.
This was the country’s hottest
As the clock approaches 18.00, meteorologist Marit Berger can state that temperatures across the country are on the way down.
This means that she can also choose which three places were the warmest on Monday 1 April:
1. Etne: 15.5 degrees.
2. Bergen: 14.2 degrees.
3. Gullsvik: 13.3 degrees.
– All three have had their warmest day so far this year, says Berger, but points out that no one is on the top list for the places that have been the warmest in Norway so far in 2024.
That list is as follows:
1. Tafjord: 18.7 degrees on 29 January.
2. Åndalsnes 16.7 degrees on 30 March.
3. Ørskog: 15.6 degrees on March 4.
When the calendar now shows the month of April, meteorologist Berger has a clear message for everyone who is excited about nature:
– April is the month that can offer everything and is known for changing weather. In a short time, April can give you the feeling of all seasons, so be prepared when you go out into nature.
