EASTER: The cross is the biggest symbol of Easter, and outside Grødem church, facing a busy road, stands the cross which is covered in daffodils.

For many, there is no Easter without the yellow cross made by Helge Todnem and his wife.

Think how many hours are behind. Between 500 and 600 daffodils are mounted on the cross.

Todnem has carried on this tradition for 15 years.

It says to light up when Easter is on its way. How long the flowers will last is uncertain. Helge Todnem mentions that they often die faster in the sun.

Facts about the cross;

Crosses are particularly linked to Christianity, and here crosses symbolize the Christian faith.

Crosses are mainly presented as a three-dimensional object, or two-dimensionally as a relief or image.

Crosses are usually made of wood, stone or metal. In terms of size, they can vary from a small piece of jewelry to a large monument. A cross painted on a substrate can be made in different techniques.

A cross can be part of a permanent fixture in a church. One processional cross is carried in a church procession. One pectoral cross is a cross worn on a chain, as a sign of office and dignity for bishops. A small cross in a chain around the neck, as combined jewelery and symbol of faith, is widespread.

A cruciform ground plan is common in churches. In long churches, the ground plane can be shaped like a Latin cross, i central churches as a Greek cross.
