This weekend, Jenny Jenssen (60) celebrated two major events.

The cheerful and energetic artist organized a 60th birthday party, but she also surprised her guests with a wedding.

This year, she and her husband Tor Magne Jenssen-Søreng (67) have been together for 28 years, and they have long had plans to renew their marriage vows.

To the surprise of the guests, she and Søreng were married for the fifth time on Saturday evening and they were married by celebrity priest Einar Gelius (64).

Consecrate them for the third time

It is not the first time that Gelius has been part of Jenssen and Søreng’s wedding planning.

He tells Nettavisen that he has married the couple twice before, and when he was asked once again it was almost impossible to say no:

– In a way, I have become their house priest, says Gelius and laughs.

He goes on to say that Saturday’s wedding was a magical experience, and he praises the love the couple have for each other.

– It is absolutely magical to experience people who are so fond of each other and who want to confirm their marriage vows time and time again. You are moved by it, says the priest to Nettavisen.

Jenny Jenssen has not responded to Nettavisen’s inquiries.

As mentioned, it is not the first time that Jenssen and Søreng have become husband and wife. They met in 1989 in the capital, but they did not marry until 1996. Ten years later they renewed their marriage vows for the first time, and Jenssen was also pregnant with their daughter Tilje, who is now 17.

The couple has renewed their vows two more times. Among other things, in a lavvo on Golsfjellet, and at home in the garden in Asker when they celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.

According to a previous interview with Her og Nå, Jenssen could reveal big plans for the couple’s fourth wedding, and it was inspired by the 60-year-old’s “16 weeks of hell” participation:

– I want us to get married in Wyllerløypa. The Wyller trail was the turning point for me. It was there that I closed the door to the old unhealthy life, and opened the door to the new wonderful life I have now, she told the weekly magazine last year.

Surprise

With the exception of some guests, not everyone was apparently aware that Saturday’s celebration would also involve a wedding.

According to Gelius, the guests received an invitation to Jenssen’s 60th birthday party, but he was one of the few who knew about the wedding in advance.

– I think there were some who were surprised that they would be allowed to take part in the renewal of the marriage at the same time, says Gelius.

There were several celebrity guests present, including Trine Line Olsen (48), Pål Anders Ullevålseter (55), and Egil Skurdal (29). The former published a video on Instagram with several video clips from the special evening.

“When the dance band the queen from the north turns 60, it must be celebrated… there was also a wedding in addition. Great artist and great role model from the north who has helped me on my journey. And the greatest are those who go ahead and do not pull up the ladder. Thank you and congratulations”, wrote Olsen in the caption.

To Nettavisen to Olsen that it was a successful celebration:

– It was absolutely lovely to be part of the celebration. I love Jenny, and she has been one of those from the start who has given me support and advice. It was great fun. We had a lot of fun, says Olsen.
