This autumn and this winter, you could see artist Jenny Jenssen (60) doing other things than standing on stage and performing with songs. Then she was first in “16 weeks of hell”, then in the NRK Christmas calendar “24-star Christmas calendar”.
However, it is precisely artist, not reality TV participant or Christmas enthusiast, that she is best known for.
– Hell
Through love for music, she also found the other great love of her life: Tor Magne (67).
Jenny and what would become her husband met when he was looking for a new vocalist for the band Novaja, which he ran at the time. After a tip from a friend in the north, he got in touch with Jenny after a singing test.
That’s what Se og Hør writes.
They didn’t know each other before, but when they met at the Hotel Bristol in 1990, it was full steam ahead.
They got engaged on Midsummer’s Eve the same year, and a few years later, in 1996, they got married.
– Don’t get tired of each other
Since then, they have renewed their marriage vows three times – and now the fourth time is their turn.
– This year we have been married for 28 years. That is why we will renew our vows in the Seamen’s Church in Torrevieja in the autumn, she tells Se og Hør.
Among other things, they renewed the promises they once made to each other in 2006, when they celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary. At the same time, they celebrated Tor Magne’s 50th birthday.
She says that not all days in marriage are rosy, and that sometimes they “discuss so loudly that baked potatoes fly into the wall”, but that she is glad she has Tor Magne.
– A big win
– We enjoy each other’s company. I can talk to him about anything. Tor is my best friend, lover, mate – and the best dad in the world.
The couple have a 17-year-old daughter Tilje together.
