The artist Duffy disappeared from the limelight

In 2020, the Welsh singer Aimee Anne Duffy (39), better known by the stage name Duffy, disappeared from social media, shortly after she was open about having been involved in a traumatic event.

The 39-year-old said at the time that she was drugged, kidnapped and raped, and then transported to another country. The perpetrator allegedly threatened her with death and held her prisoner for several days, before she managed to escape.

“I remember the pain and that I tried to stay conscious in the room after the rapes happened. I was trapped with him for another day. He didn’t look at me and I had to walk behind him. He could get rid of me.”

“I thought about running away to a neighboring town when he was sleeping, but I had no money and was afraid he would call the police or they would find me. I don’t know how I had the strength to survive those days,” she wrote frankly in a statement from 2020.

Since the shock statement, it has been quiet around the star, but in a new Instagram post she now makes a new statement to her fans.

“A little thing to motivate their hearts. Hope you are all well. Lots of love, Duffy,” she writes under a new video on her Instagram profile.

She took the video, which deals with the pursuit of happiness, from the Instagram page “thephilosophart”, which is known for sharing inspirational content.

“You’re going to realize that happiness was never about your job or your degree or being in a relationship,” the voice says at the beginning of the video.

Fans have flocked to the comments section to show their support for the songbird, and several emphasize that they admire the 39-year-old.

“We love you. We hope and wish that you are happy and that you are where your heart wants you to be. I’m sending you lots of positive energy and hugs,” writes a fan under the post.

“We miss you, Duffy. And we love you. Hope you are doing well. Remember that people love you here,” writes another.

The singer is perhaps best known for his song “Mercy” on his debut album “Rockferry” from 2008.
