According to Bloomberg, Elon Musk wants to fire 20 percent of Tesla.

The third cut in as many weeks

The company first announced that 10 percent must go. Then came the news that the entire Supercharger team had been fired, and now there are even more reports on LinkedIn of people who have left AI and the electric car company struggling due to a largely saturated segment, as well as more challengers at home and in China. The total is that sales and income are down 55 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Above, Electrek reports that “several sources” who are said to be familiar with the matter, report that the company has chosen to fire people from the software, service and developer departments.

“Multiple sources told me that some departments are stretched so thin that Tesla will likely soon realize it will need to rehire many workers, something the automaker had to do after previous rounds of layoffs,” reports Electrek.

Musk also stated in the summer of 2022 that 10 percent would have to go: “Musk apparently has a “terrible feeling” for economic development. Reuters has seen the letter in which Musk says the company must cut so many positions to be prepared for the future,” we reported at the time.
