– I should have given up a long time ago, Finn Grøstad told Ringerikes Blad yesterday, when it became known that he is stepping down from the AKA board after 40 years.

He was manager until 2017, and has been a board member since then.

Several changes are now taking place.

Tommy Korneliussen, who took over as chairman from Grøstad in 2017, is also stepping down from the board.

In a press release, the company thanks them both for their cooperation and “their contribution to the company’s growth and development.”

– With their experience and wisdom, both Grøstad and Korneliussen have added valuable expertise to the board’s work over many years.

Now Peter A. Ruzicka is the new chairman. He has been a board member of AKA since 17 December 2020, and otherwise has broad board experience from companies such as Pandora, Aspelin Ramm, Axfood and Royal Unibrew, the company states.

– He has also managed several large and international companies such as Hakon Gruppen, Ahold, Jernia and Orkla. In the latter, he was CEO from 2014-2019.

Saloume Djoudat and Pål Wibe have been elected as new board members.

AKA states that Djoudat has been a partner in Bull & Co Advokatfirma AS since 2013, and previously held a position as a lawyer in Uno-X Mobility Norge. She is educated at the Faculty of Law at the University of Oslo, and works with general business law, including company law, M&A and contract law. Djoudat is also a member of the board of Atea and AF Gruppen.

Wibe has extensive board experience from several industries, private and public companies, the company states.

– Wibe currently sits on the boards of, among others, Posten Bring, Europris and Holdbart. He has 25 years’ experience as a manager in retail companies, 18 of them as managing director at companies such as XXL, Europris and Nille. Wibe is a civil economist at NHH and has an MBA from Berkeley in California.

– Although we have to say goodbye to two important members of the board, we are happy to bring in and get to know two new, talented members, says Hallvard Thoresen.

– We are confident that Saloume and Pål will add the right and important expertise to AKA which will strengthen the company’s board and contribute to fulfilling our goals. It is always positive to bring in people who can see the company with new eyes and contribute with new perspectives. We believe the new board will complement each other well.
